Classification
Supplemental: Myalgic encephalomyelitis/Chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS)
Short Description of Instrument
The Pain Frequency-Severity-Duration Scale is a self-report measure of children's pain experience over the past two weeks. The scale consists of 5 questions which assesses multiple domains of pain as well the effect that pain has on daily functioning.

Age Range: 8-18 years
Comments
The PFSD is brief, acceptable to children as young as age 8, and patients find it easy to understand and complete. The authors report "significant correlations were found between the PFSD composite score and … both activity limitations and health related quality of life" [measured with the Peds QL]. (Salamon et al., 2014).
Scoring
This is a self-report scale, with scores ranging from 0–140. A composite score is calculated from the product of the number of days of pain, the level of usual pain and the level of worst pain divided by 10.
